The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has extended the registration deadline for first-year BE/BTech admissions for the 2026-27 academic year. Eligible candidates can now complete their online registration until 5 pm on July 19.
Along with the extension, the CET Cell has announced the revised admission schedule. The first round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) will begin on July 28, while the entire admission process, including institutional-level admissions, will conclude by 5 pm on September 15.
The CET Cell has urged all candidates who appeared for the MAH CET Engineering examination to complete their CAP registration within the extended deadline. Interest in engineering admissions has increased this year, with 2,61,669 candidates registering so far compared to 2,25,443 registrations during the 2025-26 admission cycle.
To participate in the admission process, candidates must complete online registration, upload the required documents and select either E-Scrutiny or Physical Scrutiny for document verification. Candidates opting for E-Scrutiny can have their documents verified online without visiting a facilitation centre. Those choosing Physical Scrutiny must visit the designated verification centre in person with their original documents.
The CET Cell has clarified that candidates who have already registered for the MAH CET are not required to pay any additional CAP registration fee. However, candidates applying under the NRI, OCI, PIO, Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and Foreign National categories must pay the prescribed non-refundable registration fee.
Applications can be submitted through the CET Cell’s official website. The admission process will include four CAP rounds, followed by institutional-level admissions. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official website for detailed schedules, counselling updates and other important notifications.
