The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a show-cause notice to the Domino’s Pizza outlet in Yadav Nagar after an inspection allegedly revealed violations of food safety and labelling norms.
The inspection, conducted by Food Safety Officer Archana Khandare, found that the outlet had not clearly informed customers whether the paneer used in its food items was genuine paneer or analogue paneer, despite regulations requiring such information to be prominently displayed before customers place their orders.
Officials also observed that customer bills issued by the outlet did not mention the mandatory Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence number, as required under food safety regulations.
The FDA has directed the outlet to immediately rectify the deficiencies and comply with all prescribed food safety norms. It has warned that appropriate action will be taken if the violations are not addressed within the stipulated time.
