In a tragic incident, six innocent deer were killed after being struck by a moving train near Tukaram Nagar, adjacent to Kanhan Railway Station, within the limits of Kanhan Municipal Council in Nagpur district.
The accident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., when a herd of deer was crossing the railway tracks. The impact of the train was so severe that all six deer died on the spot.
The incident has raised serious concerns about wildlife safety along railway tracks passing through forest and wildlife movement corridors. Local residents have urged the Railway authorities and the Forest Department to take immediate preventive measures to avoid such tragic accidents in the future.
Forest officials and local authorities reached the spot after receiving information, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
