Siddhant Gawai clinched second title in the blitz online event organized by the Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) on the platform of lichess.org on Sunday.
Siddhant emerged champion collecting 8.5 points. On his way to win the second title, Siddhant defeated Jagruti Saudagar, Shraddha Bajaj, champion of last Sunday’s tournament Arush Chitre, experienced Kaustav Barat, Sparsh Kumbhalkar, Sumedh Ramteke, Kunal Manglani and Dishank Bajaj.
Siddhant’s victory margin of 1.5 points was followed by Ramteke brothers—Ayush and Sumedh. Though Ayush  was defeated by his elder brother Sumedh in the final round, both garnered seven points each. On the basis of their progressive score, Ayush edged out Sumedh marginally.
The eventual champion, Siddhant won the initial five rounds before being held to a draw in the sixth-round by Ayush. Siddhant took no chances after that and won all the remaining three games to record a winning percentage of 89%.
