Under the ultra mega renewable energy park mission of he Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India,a 2500 mega watt (MW)capacity solar energy park will be established in Maharashtra.As per information,Mahagenco has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU)with NTPC in this regard.
State Energy Minister Dr.Nitin Raut has directed Mahagenco to create solar powered unconventional energy production mega project in the state to save environment.Mahagenco would be installing a 602 mega watt solar power projects across various parts of Maharashtra on the owned land.The work will be done in three phases.In the first phase,it is proposed to develop the proposed solar power projects at Kaudgaon(50MW),Shivajinagar Sakri-1(25 MW)Sindala(60MW)in Latur.
Besides this,there is a plan to develop solar power plant at Bhusawal,Parli,Koradi and Nashik at the closed thermal power plants.In the second phase,390 MW capacity solar power projects will be developed.
These include Yavatmal(75MW),Washim(170MW) and Chandrapur(145MW)districts.In the third phase,a solar power project will be developed at Shivajinagar Sakri 2(25MW).As per information,these proposals will be submitted soon for the administrative approval of the government of Maharashtra and for the approval of share capital.
