Violating lockdown rules, in a joint action by Ambazari and Gittikhadan Police under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Vinita Sahu, cops booked six girls and 20 boys near Telangkhedi Lake on Thursday.
As per information, after spotting the youngsters not wearing masks, clicking selfies without maintaining social distancing, riding triple seat on two-wheelers and parking vehicles haphazardly on the lake side road, Vinita Sahu directed Senior Inspector Vijay Kare and Senior Inspector Sunil Chauhan, Incharge of Ambazari and Gittikhadan Police Stations respectively to book the youngsters violating the lockdown rules. Subsequently, police detained the vehicles of the lockdown violators and registered offences under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Epidemic Act, Maharashtra Police Act and Motor Vehicle Act against them.
