Good news for cricket enthusiasts as the Indian Premier League 2020 season will begin from September 19 and continue till November 8 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The finale will be held on November 8, confirmed IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel.
The Governing Council will hold a meeting next week discussing the plan of departure for teams and the full schedule of the tournament will be chalked out.
The ICC has postponed the October-November T20 World Cup in Australia owing to the COVID-19 pandemic due to which the host country expressed its inability to conduct the event due to which IPL tournament has been made possible.
Patel said that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to combat the COVID-19 threat is being prepared and the BCCI will formally write to the Emirates Cricket Board.
As per the current health protocol in Dubai, there is no need to be in quarantine if people are carrying a negative COVID-19 test report, but if they are not, they will have to undergo a test.
