Bhandara: Considering the rise in number of COVID-19 cases in Bhandara, two days Janata Curfew on August 8 and 9 has been declared in the district. The decision is taken during a meeting of Municipal Council on Thursday, under the chairmanship of MP and Civic Chief Sunil Mendhe in which unanimous decision was taken to observe the curfew on Saturday and Sunday.
During the two days of Janata Curfew only hospitals, medical shops and dairies will remain open. MP Mendhe and MLA Bhondekar has also appealed people to abide with the curfew in strict manner and cooperate with the administration in checking further spread of the pandemic. It was also recommended in the meeting to ask the police administration for taking adequate action against the shops found open after 6 pm and shops of essential commodities after 7 pm.
Bhandara MLA Narendra Bhondekar was also present in the meeting along with Chief Officer Vinod Jadhav, Vice President Dinesh Bhure and councilors. During the meeting CO Jadhav put forth the prevailing situation within the limits of MC and stressed the need for taking effective measures to break the chain to stop any community spread.
