The state government were sent some officers on deputation for three years to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Then chief and accounts officer, Madan Gadge was sent on deputation in 2010, and working in the NMC till November 2017.During these years, he did not deposit the amount of provident fund deducted from the salaries of the employees and teachers and the amount of the employees’ contributory pension scheme in the bank.It caused a huge financial loss to the employees and teachers. Due to this scam, Surendra Tingno, president of Nagpur Corporation Employees Association and its Secretary Ranjan Nalode have demanded from the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to investigate this matter. They also submitted a memorandum related this to NMC commissioner and district collector.
As per information,Gadge had not deposited Rs.51 crore of PF and Rs.36 crore deducted for contributory pension scheme and the contribution of NMC Rs.36 crore,altogether Rs.72 crore.Thus the employees are not getting the interest on this amount. Similarly had paid the late fine for not depositing the LIC money on time. During this period, heirs of 12 deceased employees and teachers did not get the full amount as per rules for not depositing the money of group insurance. After investigating this case, the employees organisation has demanded action on the culprits.
