It is really a proud moment as the three institutes namely Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences deemed to be university (DMIMS), Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) and G H Raisoni College of Engineering (GHRCE) from Nagpur got a place in the rankings of prestigious Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA). Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) Government of India, announced the Atal Rankings of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020 edition rankings on Tuesday during a grand ceremony held on virtual platform which was presided over by the Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu, in esteemed presence of Union Minister for HRD, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Union Minister of State for HRD Sanjay Dhotre.
ARIIA is an initiative of Ministry of HRD, implemented by AICTE and Ministry’s Innovation Cell, Government of India to systematically rank higher education institutions and universities in India on indicators related to Innovation, Startup and Entrepreneurship Development amongst students and faculty. Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University) added another feather in its cap as it has been ranked among top medical institutions in the country — private or self-financed universities in terms of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the organisation.
The DMIMS(DU) is the only health sciences university in the entire country to be ranked in ARIIA 2020 rankings in the area of innovation, and entrepreneurship which is ordinarily dominated by Engineering and technical institutes. GHRCE ranked 1st amongst colleges of Maharashtra and 2nd PAN India as declared by ARIIA 2020 under private or self-financed institutions. G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur is one of the premier autonomous institutes of Central India. It is a proud moment for Vidarbha region to get this success amongst engineering colleges of its region. Ranking is the reward to all the activities being undertaken by the institute for the overall growth of the students. Institute gives credit of this success to Sunil Raisoni, Chairman, Board of Governors and Dr Sachin Untawale, Director, GHRCE, and others. VNIT after registering achievement in National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), stood at top in West zone among the institutes of national importance, Central Universities. Vishram Jamdar, Chairman of Board of Governors of VNIT, Director Dr P M Padole attributed the credit to the teamwork.
