The admission process of government and private industrial training institutes for academic session 2020-21 has already commenced. There are 10,216 seats in government and private industrial training institutes in Nagpur district. Online registration process is going on from August 1 and over 10,000 applications have been received. The date of application has been extended upto August 31.As per information, there are 16 government and 72 private industrial training institutes in Nagpur district. The intake capacity of government industrial training institutes is 3672.
Total available seats in private industrial training institutes is 6,544.The rural students are preferring industrial training institutes.2891 students in Nagpur city had applied upto August 18 while 6193 students from rural areas applied. The government has made changes in admission rules. The government has made changes like 70 % admissions at district level and 30% admissions at state level. The government has made this change so that admission percentage at state level should increase and students should get admissions. The students in rural area will be given grace of 10 marks in ITI.The students will not get grace marks if he is resident of village and passed SSC exam from school in city. The school should be in rural area. Counselling centres have also been started to solve difficulties faced by students.
