The Maharashtra state government is likely to withdraw the e-passes for inter-district travel only after Moharram and Ganeshotsav. Eventhough the union government had asked for the withdrawal of e-passes, the decision would be taken after considering the situation in the state and discussions with the chief minister, said the disaster management and relief and rehabilitation secretary Kishore Raje Nimbalkar, who on Tuesday issued circular stating that e-passes are required for passenger vehicles but no such passes or separate permits are required for goods vehicles.
Earlier BJP state vice-president Madhav Bhandari wrote a letter to the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar demanding immediate withdrawal of restrictions on inter-district travel. He pointed out that the citizens have been suffering due to such restrictions.
