The district collector Ravindra Thakre has given permission to permit holder liquor sellers to sell the liquor till 9 pm.The permission has been given to wine shops, beer bars and beer shopes to sell the liquor from counter along with home delivery. As per information, it will help to cease the illegal recovery of Rs.20 to Rs.40 by employees of shops from the customers.
During the lockdown, there was order for only home delivery but most of the liquor sellers were violating the government order. The employees of the shops were recovering Rs.40 to Rs.50 per bottle extra for a 750 ml bottle from the customers while as per the state government’s excise department rule, the customer can purchase by paying Rs.5 extra for day permit. But despite this some liquor sellers were involved in illegal recovery. They were also selling liquor till 8 pm by opening half shutter. The license holder sellers can sell only sealed bottle till lockdown. The permission has been given to sell liquor till 9 pm to wine shop (FL-2)bear bar (FL-3)bear shopee(FL-BR 2)and country liquor(CL-3) except the shops falling under the containment zone. Along with this, the wholesale dealers (FL-1) and country liquor sellers (CL-2) can run their business till 8 pm.
