As we know the city is witnessing a severe issue as the Covid-19 positive patients are increasing day by day. To prevent the widespread of the deadly virus, the number of investigations has been increased as the contact tracing of high risk patients will be done on priority and a standard operating procedure (SOP) has been fixed for this.
The civic chief Radhakrishnan B said that its responsibility is being handed over to four IAS officers which include Manish Khatri,Madhavi Khode,Ram Murthy and ASR Nayak.They will control and monitor the contact tracing in the ten zones of NMC as now around 6000 were being tested daily in the Nagpur city. Municipal Commissioner also informed that two IAS officers will also be appointed to handle the arrangements at Mayo and GMCH.He further added that the RT-PCR test will be emphasized to prevent Covid.Necessary steps are being taken to check this in more and more labs. Machines will be provided where required and the capacity will be increased to 1000 tests.And arrangements are made for the test report to be received within 24 hours while the testing centres have been increased to 50.According to the civic chief, 1200 new beds have been provided in the last eight days whereas 1000 more beds will increase in next 10 days.
