The deadly Coronavirus has taken a big toll on not only on the health system and caused economic disruption but also dramatically affected our lifestyles. The education system was badly affected due to the virus with millions of student who are still not able to receive facilities to be a part of online classes.
Since lockdown, we have heard many stories about how children at a tender age began working to earn to feed the family due to which they are not able to avail education, while some did not have a facility to be a part of the online education system.
What we might have forgotten is how the orphan children in various orphanages might be doing with limited resources and hundreds of hands to share things with one such orphanage Shri Shradhanand Anathalaya at Abhyankar Nagar has been giving shelter to 120 children.
Social worker and one of the in-charge of Shri Shradhanand Anathalaya Pratima Diwanji said that we have 120 children in our institute and giving everyone the required gadgets is impossible for us as we do not have the resources now. The donation which we used to get was also affected by the lockdown. A few days back we received 2 laptops for the students but for 120 students of all different ages and it is not possible to allot to all the kids.
Children miss going out and meet their friends in school but as it is closed they have to spend an entire day in campus. This is the situation of many orphanages in the city and we are trying our best to provide the basic facilities to these kids and make them feel like home.
