Inspector general of police Cheeranjiv Prasad after assuming the charge on Friday stated that it would be his first and foremost duty to help the victims of the crimes in the city. An IPS officer of 1996 batch, Cheeranjiv Prasad has earlier worked as additional police commissioner of Nagpur city.
He further said that citizens expect the police machinery to address their problems speedily and to their satisfaction. And he also stated that every effort would be made to maintain law and order situation in the city. He also expressed his concern about the police personnel working amid the serious pandemic situation. He added that the pandemic should not result into more number of casualties in the police force and he will always try to protect the lives of people in such situation.
