Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones died after suffering a heart attack on Thursday in Mumbai. He was 59. Dean Jones was in India for Indian Premier League. He suffered a massive heart attack at a hotel in Mumbai after 12 PM on Thursday.
Jones suffered a massive heart attack in the lobby of the hotel where he was staying during the commentary stint. “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest,” Star India, who host the broadcast of the IPL, said in a statement.
Dean Jones played 52 Tests and 164 ODIs for Australia during his international career.
He was also known as Professor Deano, he was famous for his attacking batting style as a top-order batsman in one-day internationals. Jones was coach for many different teams during his time.
