In view of the increasing COVID-19 cases in city, Mayor Sandip Joshi has made an appeal to citizens urging them to stay at home during the weekend and wholeheartedly support the Janata Curfew. People should make most of the opportunity and take ample rest on Saturday and Sunday as it is in their interest that they do not move out without purpose on streets. He said that the situation is very severe as cases are increasing with each passing day and hence each individual needs to take utmost care. The two-day curfew is aimed at breaking the transmission chain and this is the best possible approach in present situation that is very grim.
Therefore people should avoid venturing out unnecessary in public places and observe all the norms prescribed by State Government from time to time. Ultimately each one is responsible for his or her health and in current situation of pandemic every citizen is master of his own and Mayor said the best decision is remain in safe confines of four walls of respective houses. Today it is far more important to ensure that no one falls ill and given the tension and worries of modern times such weekend breaks are more of immunity booster. Though during last Janata Curfew the response from citizens was quite enthusing but at some places the scenes were jarring and one could not fathom why people are unnecessarily taking risks, he questioned. The Mayor reminded citizens that every household has kids and elderly persons and people must be extra cautious and cooperate fully during two days of Janata Curfew.
