Two of the ultimate superstars of Indian cricket – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma – will be squaring off against each other as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The tenth match of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) is likely to produce some exciting moments as both teams possess extraordinary players.
In every IPL, the fight between Mumbai Indians and RCB is one of the most followed games due to some huge international stars on the roster. The gulf city will be the scene of the collision with the likes of Team India skipper Kohli, Indian vice-captain Rohit, AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah among others taking the field.
It will be a crucial outing for both teams on the back of contrasting displays and results in their previous match. So far, MI and RCB have a win and loss to their name, however, the defending champions are still ahead in the points table due to net-run rate.
Holders MI bounced back with a 49-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders after losing the opener to Chennai Super Kings by five wickets on September 19. Rohit smashed a superb 80 to notch up their 20th win over KKR. It got MI their first points in the IPL and maiden win in the gulf in six matches.
On the other hand, RCB got off to a flying start and won their opening tie against Sunrisers Hyderabad but crashed to a humiliating defeat against Kings XI Punjab. RCB have to make some changes to make their team stronger as they face mighty MI.
Kohli has struggled to get going in the first two matches. He was dismissed for 14 against SRH and managed just 1 off 5 balls against KXIP as the team rolled over for mere 109 in 17 overs. To make the matter worse, he also dropped two KL Rahul’s catches. He will be eager to get back to form against the MI on Monday. The RCB will also like opener Devdatt Padikkal to fire at the top of the order.
Barring Yuzvendra Chahal, RCB’s bowling is once again a cause of concern. Pacer Umesh Yadav has been woeful in the two matches. The ‘Vidarbha Express’ conceded more than 12 runs per over in both the ties. Even Dale Steyn has performed poorly and might be replaced for the next match.
