As we know with the efforts of district and city administration the cases of Covid-19 positive cases are decreasing day by day in city. However, Ravindra Thakare, District Collector asked healthcare machinery to be prepared to handle the second wave of infection. As the Government is thinking of allowing schools and colleges to reopen. In such a situation, the institutions requisitioned for quarantine centres will have to be vacated for academic activities. Hence, the officials concerned should start looking out for alternative arrangements that could be made to quarantine patients.
Thakare was addressing the officials through video-conferencing, on Monday. The District Collector directed to implement a special drive in rural areas of Nagpur district to check health status of patients who have recovered from COVID-19. The ‘Post COVID OPD’ drive will be implemented through preliminary healthcare centres (PHCs), sub-centres, tehsil-level healthcare centres from Tuesday. This special OPD will be conducted between 12 noon and 1 pm. Thakare suggested that the healthcare machinery should contact the COVID-19 patients, treat the patients facing difficulty in breathing and suffering from serious ailments, suggest to them physical exercises and nutritious diet to enhance immunity. The persons who have recovered fromCOVID-19 should be motivated to donate plasma for treatment of patients. He suggested to increase RTPCR tests, and intensifying ‘My Family, My Responsibility ‘campaign as well as ‘My Area, My Initiative’ drive.
