JD Sports Youth Foundation, Cyclists Group hold cycle ride under Fit India Movement

JD Sports Youth Foundation and the Cyclists Group jointly organised a cycle ride on the eve of Navratri under the ‘Fit India Movement’ on Sunday from RBI Square to Koradi Temple and back.

This ride was flagged off by former Joint Director, Sports and Youth Services Government of Maharashtra, Dr Jaiprakash Duble, international ultra cyclist  Dr Amit Samarth and assistant commissioner Dhananjay Sute.

Foundation president Jayant Duble, who is also an Open Water Marathon Swimming record holder, spoke about the objective behind organising this ride in Covid-19 pandemic situation. He said boosting immunity is the solution to fight Coronavirs and cycling is one of the best exercises for all the age groups.

Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs is promoting Fit India Movement all over India and also encouraging the youth clubs to spread this message by organising such types of events. He further informed that cycle ride, walkathon, trekking, running and indigenous games will be organised in the near future by the foundation.

Around 50 cyclists participated in this event. Youngest participant Mihika Agashe (12 years), who is also a national-level skater, was felicitated by founder of Cyclists Group Yogesh Bhagadkar. During the cycle ride, all the participants followed the guidelines and took necessary precautions as instructed by MHA and State Government. Member of the foundation Prajakta J Duble proposed a vote of thanks.
