A good initiative to attract citizens to Metro services the in city, Maha Metro has devised a policy to provide space at stations for putting up stalls for display of items. The launch of passenger services on Aqua and Orange lines has further boosted the metro officials who are keen to get more footfalls. In this regard it put up an exhibition of books at Sitabuldi Inter-change station and at Subhash Nagar station. Also display of artifacts dating back to bygone era also was organised that received good response.
The idea of metro officials is that once citizens steps in any of its station they are bound to be impressed by the grandeur and tasteful design of the buildings and would not resist temptation of travel. Hence to promote the engagement further Metro has appealed citizens to make full advantage and said it is ready to provide space for stalls and also provide electricity for the exhibitions. Further exhibitions of various useful items have been started at Subhash Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar metro stations and citizens have responded well to all these initiatives. Those interested in organising exhibition should contact the Corporate Communication Department at the administrative building in front of Maha Metro’s Deekshabhoomi to set up an exhibition in the vicinity of the metro station. The facility is being provided free of cost by Maha Metro.
