Indeed a good initiative by Railway Protection Force (RPF) as South East Central Railway (SECR) has launched a programme ‘My Saheli’ for women travelling in the trains on the instruction of Director General of RPF. Woman RPF personnel are assisting female train travellers and inquiring about any problems they are facing during the journey.
If a lady is travelling alone in the train, the RPF staff forwards her information to concerned RPF stations on her route. On Sunday, a woman passenger was travelling in A2 coach, from Bilaspur to Bhusawal with her four month-old son. The child was continuously crying for milk. The RPF staff immediately arranged milk at Nagpur Railway Station after alerting 182 helpline. Husband of the woman tweeted his thanks to Railway Minister and DG-RPF for the help.
