The administration has commenced preparations as the election of Nagpur Graduate constituency of the Legislative Council scheduled to be held in December. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, it has already added woes of administration. And administration has decided to conduct elections strictly following rules. Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar on Tuesday stated that in view of Covid-19 the guidelines to strictly follow the rules during the electoral process have been issued.
Use of mask, sanitizer, soap, thermal scanner, gloves will be mandatory. The District Health Officer has been appointed as Covid Nodal Officer for the election. So far 188208 graduates have been registered as voters for the election. Registration can be done by November 5.After this final voter list will be released. Postal ballot paper voting facility will be made available for voters who are Covid positive and above 80 years of age. However, the guidelines in this regard have not cleared yet.
