Nagpur University is preparing to make some changes in PhD registration pre entrance test (PET) rules. The university is contemplating a plan to end the provisions of PET-2.As per information; two committees were formed by the university to prepare a new ordinance for PhD registration. A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Dr.Rajesh Bhoyar, a senior member of the university management council and the second committee was formed under the chairmanship of Dr.Dilip Peshwa.Both committees have submitted their report to the university. The meeting started to discuss the committee’s report and to prepare a new ordinance.
As the meeting has been called on today and the draft of the new ordinance can be approved in this meeting. As per the source, committee has recommended to scrap PET-2 and to continue with PET-1 to encourage the research work in the university. The committee believes that due to the provision of PET-2, research work in the university is decreasing. Apart from this three other major changes have been recommended by the committee in this report .Vice Chancellor of the university Dr.Subhash Chaudhari stated that the report and the recommendations of the committee are under discussion and final approval will be given in today’s meeting.
