Gondia: Goods worth lakhs were turned into ashes in the fire that broke out at a cloth shop situated near Khoja Masjid in the main market area of Gondia district on Saturday evening.
The incident came into light after some people noticed big flames and smoke coming out from Dulha House, a cloth shop owned by Dilip Goplani.
As per the information recieved, the fire erupted on the terrace of the four-storey showroom. The fire fighting team immediately reached the spot. After 40 minutes of struggle the fire fighters controlled the blaze.
Gondia City Police team also rushed to the spot and prevented people from making rush at the site.
Fire fighters toiled hard for about 40 minutes to control the fire. Fortunately there was no casualty reported except goods, mainly clothes worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire.
The exact cause behind the fire could not be ascertained.
