A well-known jewellery shop owner in the city was defrauded of Rs 9.43 crore by his employees. The accused have been identified as Ramkunwar Jangid, and his sons Sunil Jangid, and Mohanlal Jangid.As per information, Anantrai Parekh owns a jewellery shop at Darodkar Square. The accused Jangid was his trusted employee. According to the complainant Anantrai Parekh’s nephew Bharat Parekh’s son Hardik Parekh, Jangid took advantage of Anantrai’s illness and transferred Rs.6.88 crore to a joint account he had with Anantrai.
Jangid’s son Sunil forged Anantrai’s signature to get share certificates of worth 92.85 lakh transferred in his name. He also allegedly made a fake will of Anantrai Parekh and got gold worth Rs.1.5 crore and silver worth Rs.12 lakh in his name. Due to illness Anatrai Parekh passed away in June.Hardik Parekh got the fake will while cleaning the home. He then filed a complaint in Lakadganj police. The police were investigating the matter since last two months.A case of fraud and criminal conspiracy was registered against Jangid on Saturday. It is learnt that the accused has close relations with Anantrai Parekh.Anatrai had no children.Jangid along with his family used to live in Anantrai’s house with him. On the basis of complaint given by Hardik Parekh, Lakadganj Police have registered the case and further investigations are going on this matter.
