What we call as a shameful incident, the Personal Assistant of the textile commissioner for demanding bribe of Rs.5 lakh for the approval of outstanding bill. The action was taken at the textile commissioner’s office at Civil Lines. The accused is Nitin Suresh Verma (55) resident of Dharampeth Tanga Stand Chowk.As per the information; Verma is the PA of textile commissioner Madhavi Khode.The complainant runs a security agency.
He has a contract for providing security guards to Bunkar Sahakari Sutgirni.He had got a cheque of 34.56 lakh for his services between October 2015 and March 2019.However his payment worth 9.46 lakh for services between April 2019 to August 2020 was pending. To get the payment, the complainant met the textile commissioner’s PA Nitin Verma.Verma asked for Rs.7 lakh for the approval of the bill. And the complainant met Superintendent of ACB Rashmi Nandedkar.ACB investigated and found it true. After discussions with the complainant, Verma agreed to get the bill approved for 5 lakh. After this ACB laid a trap to catch him red-handed. And Verma was finally arrested on Wednesday and a case was registered against him.
