A sincere, simple educator with a passion for knowledge, Mallika Kaleem, a college lecturer, from the city of Nagpur has emerged the WINNER of the World Teachers Quiz 2020. She won the title from a staggering 11,633 teachers from 12 countries that took part in the quiz.
The global celebratory event is a tribute to teachers across the world for their outstanding work and contribution in these trying times. The quiz was organised by a leading global portal for educators ‘TeacherTribe.world’ in association with software giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS iON).
Mallika, who had won her semi-final in a truly dramatic manner, beating Ka Beri, a teacher from the United States of America, was in brilliant form as she won the World Final of the quiz getting past Vijai Rajagopal from Bengaluru. The quiz was premiered to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam on whose advise The Teacher Tribe was started.
The multi-round global challenge witnessed 11633 teachers in the first round from which 750 qualified for the second round followed by the round of 32 and the round of 16 from which the top 4 will emerge for the World Final. The entire series is co-hosted by celebrity quizmaster Giri PICKBRAIN and Rashmi Furtado – the only professional woman quiz host across Asia. The quiz itself was a landmark event hosted entirely on a digital platform called Quizital.
Speaking on the occasion noted quizmaster Pickbrain said “The simple objective was to celebrate the teacher and in a small way (that turned out to be huge) applaud the great work done by them during this pandemic. Even the Tata’s who supported us for the prelim did not charge a pennyâ€. “The performance and huge participation has been a humbling experience for all usâ€.
