After the decomposed carcass of a sub-adult tiger was found on Sunday in a paddy field in Lodhitala village in Chutia beat of Gondia forest range, the forest department started enquiry regarding the cause of the death. As per information, the carcass was found on Sunday in a disintegrated state with some organs missing, which gives rise to suspicion of poaching links, though death due to electrocution can also not be ruled out. The deputy conservator of forest Kulraj Singh of Gondia forest division said that a sniffer dog had been deployed to trace the missing parts which include a leg, claws, tail and portion of the fore-head. The carcass was cremated as per laid down guidelines by National Tiger Conservation authority. Further probe in this matter is going on.
