Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University has adopted two villages from Murtijapur tehsil under the Central Government’s flagship programme ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’. This campaign will be implemented at Muramba and Sisa Masa in Murtijapur tehsil while Chichati (Chikhaldara), Sawali Datura (Achalpur) and Pimpalgao Bainai in Nandgaon Khandeshwar tehsil have also been included in it.
Under guidance of SGBAU Vice Chancellor Dr Murlidhar Chandekar, different development initiatives will be taken in during the campaign.
On the basis of its study the university has prepared a report and will focus on employment generation.
Under this campaign, special training sessions on brick kiln, horticulture, dal mills, electrical and mechanical expertise will be held. Emphasis will also be put on solar energy.
Along with SGBAU, PDKV, Akola, and MAFSU, Nagpur, have also come forward to take up responsibility of the campaign.
Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krushi Vidyapeeth has taken up responsibility of providing guidance for setting up of agro-based industries, skill development,
organic farming etc.,while MAFSU will provide training to rural youths on advanced practices in dairy, animal husbandary and fisheries.
