On Tuesday night, the Sitabuldi Police lodged one FIR and arrested a man named Tapas Ghosh for duping Rs 2.5 crore of Mukta Bobde, mother of the Chief Justice of India Sharad Bobde.
As per sources, the Bobde family inherited a lawn, “Season’s Lawn†near Akashwani square, in which CJIs mother Mukta is the legal property owner. The lawn has been rented to Ghosh since last 10 years. Ghosh and his wife looked after the proceedings of the property and the accountancy department was also handled by Ghosh’s wife.
Justice Sharad Bobde’s mother was not keeping good health since past few days and the Ghosh family took advantage of that very situation.
The accused committed irregularities in the rent collected from the lawn and usurped a large chunk of amount by negotiating false bills.
The fraud was detected after the Bobde family filed a complaint at the police station. Meanwhile, the police interrogated the Ghosh family and a financial duping case of Rs 2.5 crore came to the forefront. And thus under the relevant section of IPC, Tapas Ghosh was arrested.
