No plans to cancel NEET 2021, considering multiple attempts for JEE Main, says Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Thursday interracted with students in a webminar that started at 10 am. In that live session, Pokhriyal said that there is no plan to cancel the Medical entrance test — NEET 2021. Answering another question, the minister said that his ministry is considering to hold multiple sessions of JEE Main.

Using #EducationMinisterGoesLive, students asked regarding CBSE Board Exam 2021, JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021. While some students have asked for a reduced syllabus of CBSE board exam, others have asked the minister to announce dates.

Medical and Engineering students also asked the Education Minister to announce JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 syllabus and for a postponement of the entrance exams.

While answering those questions, Pokhriyal said that if students can’t go to schools for lab-related works, it will not be possible to conduct practical exams. “We will discuss in this regard,” he said.

On reducing JEE and NEET 2021 syllabus, Education Minister said that the discussions are in place and it is possible that the paper pattern may be tweaked (like introducing choices or giving less questions from the portions that have been removed) in the competitive examinations. However, he noted down the students appeal to reduce 10-20% of the syllabus but there is no indication that the same would be done.
