VIA LEW organized a virtual industrial tour to two Nagpur based units of Vicco Laboratories and Artefakt recently on Zoom followed by guidance on ‘Start Your Own Industry’ conducted by Hemant Waghmare, Project Officer of Maharashtra Centre of Entrepreneurship Development (MCED).
The introduction of the programme was given by Sarita Pawar, by stating that the industrial tours were started 22 years ago to let the members know how industries are run so as to make their own.
Manisha Bawankar, Chairperson, VIA LEW, gave the opening remarks and welcomed all the guests, concerned persons of Vicco laboratories; Artfakt and Hemant Waghmare. She said that the application forms for Best Lady Entrepreneur Award are available with the office of VIA, this yearly award is given on the international women’s day. Similarly, e-forms for the same are also available. She requested all the members to advertise their products in the souvenir being published on the completion of 25 years of VIA LEW and also contribute by giving write-ups on women entrepreneurship. The souvenir is being published on 05th March 2021.
Shachi Mallick, Past Chairperson – VIA LEW conducted the entire programme in a successful manner wherein questions & answers secession was organised for all the participants, this secession was based on the information provided during the industrial tours to make the tour more interesting.
Yogita Deshmukh, PRO–VIA LEW briefed about Vicco Laboratories and its Director, Amit Ashok Pendharkar before start of the virtual tour. Shashank Telang of Vicco Laboratories conducted the session and described every aspect of the complete cycle of the production process and how the ayurvedic products are being manufactured.
Indu Kshirasagar, Vice Chairperson – VIA LEW, introduced the second virtual tour of Artefakt, Proprietress, Y Ramani. Y Ramani, who also happens to be the past Chairperson of VIA LEW, very nicely explained every intricacies involved therein and how it had benefited immensely to the women folks working there. Artefakt makes papier mache handicraft dolls which are unique in nature and very attractive and beautiful to look at. It was started with a very noble idea to produce best out of waste and to help the specially able girls to stand on their own. Artefakt also exports their products in many countries. Kruti explained the marketing development techniques and communications and how they have moved from physical platform to digital one as earlier the only way to market was through exhibition.
Guest Speaker, Hemant Waghmare, Project Officer of MCED, a well known trainer for Entrepreneurship Development in industries and self employment. He gave presentation on ‘Strat Your Own Industry’ and started by mentioning that “Creating the spirit of entrepreneurship Globally†is the vision of MCED.
He emphasized that till the time we develop MSME’s we won’t be able to generate employment. He quoted “Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people wont’, … so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.†signifying the struggles one has to undergo at the early period of business setup.
He said Business should not be run for profit only but for good life as well. He compared the business growth with Bamboo tree, which for the first three years doesn’t grow much but after that it grows exponentially, as such patience remains the key for long run and success.
He further said Creativity and Innovative Ideas are major important factors to start a business. The crux of his deliberation was from identifying the opportunity from an idea to develop the business and select and make a product choice followed by selecting a process for the business to run by arranging a suitable finance out of many available Government schemes, construction of the building and procurement of the machinery. He said utility connection is also a very important thing like, source of water and electricity connections etc., plus getting 3Ms i.e. Men, Machinery and Material are also very important aspects of the business to run successfully.
He also informed about new UDYAM Registration which every entrepreneur has to get registered by giving firms registration no, current account and PAN. He also threw light of the government supporting for the business with Government e-marketplace (GEM), CLUSTER Yojana, and financial assistance and supportive scheme under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Yojana in current pandemic. He said every entrepreneur has to go through the incentive policies formulated by the government to get maximum benefits of incentives schemes. He discussed the fiscal incentive strategy and incentives to MSME and small projects.
For exports he said that this is a good opportunity for the Indian entrepreneurs to go in for export as due to pandemic situation the exports from China are reduced considerably.
The names of the winners of the questions & answers session were announced by Manisha Bawankar, Chairperson, VIA LEW. The prizes were given by Vicco Laboratories to winners First prize – Dr. Juhi Muley, Second – Dr. Sandip Petker, Third – Rashmi Subhudhi, and the prizes given by Artfakt were First Dr. Sonal Dhabhekar and Second Aakash Ninawe.
