The efforts taken by the former Finance Minister and Chairman of the Legislative Public Accounts Committee Sudhir Mungantiwar have paid off after the Government approved a development fund of Rs 5 crore for Ballarpur Municipal Council and Rs 3.5 crore for Mul Municipal Council.
A total fund is Rs 8. 50 crore has been approved under the head of special grants for specialised works in Municipal Council schemes. The Urban Development Department has issued a GR in this regard.
As per the information, a large number of development works have already been completed in Ballarpur and Mul towns while some are still in progress.
Construction of Sub-Divisional Officer’s Office, Construction of Tehsil Office Building, Construction of Panchayat Samiti Office Building, Rest House, Diamond Cutting Training Centre, Grand Auditorium, Construction of Historic Glorious Entrance gates at the town, Smart Police Station, modern Bus Stand, etc are few achievements of Mungantiwar in Ballarpur town.
A state-of-the-art taluka sports complex, military school, and a botanical garden are under construction near the Ballarpur town.
Construction of Karmaveer M S Kannanamwar Cultural Hall and Monument, Administrative Building, Government Hostel for Tribal Children, Modernised and Renovated Bus Stand, Construction of Sports Complex, Construction of Swimming Pool, Construction of 24-hour Water Supply Scheme, Eco Park, Weekly Market, Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Public Library, development works like cementing of roads, cementing of internal roads, construction of Patrakar Bhavan, construction of rest house, construction of Panchayat Samiti building, construction of an independent hostel for the students of Mali Samaj have been accomplished in Mul town thanks to the initiative of Mungantiwar. Most of these works have been completed and some are in progress.
The approval of funds will add to the development in both the towns falling under Assembly Constituency of Mungantiwar.
