The number of students who have registered Aadhaar cards will be considered as the basis for determining the post of teachers in the school. For this, a special campaign to update Aadhaar cards of students has been launched across the state. A unit of Aadhaar has been made available to each Panchayat Samiti by the Maharashtra Primary Education Council for this campaign in Nagpur district. This unit is kept in the BRC Centre at Panchayat Samiti level. The operator was to be appointed on contract basis to operate the unit. But due to the non-appointment of an operator, the units at the BRC Centres are remaining non –functional.
At the same, officers of the education department are unable to do anything due to lack of staff to manage the system. However, the date of reopening of schools is still not decided yet. Similarly, despite not all students getting education, the education department has given orders to complete the registration of all the students’ Aadhaar numbers by March. The point to be noted here is that earlier in June 2013,the State government had decided to link Aadhaar cards of the students from all schools. Now, all students have been ordered to complete the Aadhaar registration in a phased manner and to complete the process of hundred percent students by March 31.This order was given by the State government in September 2020,in which it was said that the number of students who have registered Aadhaar card will be the base parameter to determine the posts of teachers in schools. Therefore, orders were given to complete this registration by running a special campaign. Aadhaar units are lying at the BRC Centres of all Panchayat Samitis for over a year but they have not even been installed yet. Two tehsils Parseoni and Saoner were selected in the district to implement the campaign as a pilot project to update the students’ database.
