In an attempt to maintain law and order in the city on New Year’s Eve amid the coronavirus widespread a special operation will be launched by the city traffic police against rash drivers and effective action will be taken against them.
Driving at high speeds under the influence of alcohol can lead to serious, fatal accidents.
Like every year this year to the Traffic Police will be vigilant on New Year’s Eve as drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol while celebrating the New Year will be investigated by “Breath Analyzer” and action will be taken against them.
Drivers will be prosecuted under the Motor Vehicle Act for using a loud music system in a moving vehicle.
All types of vehicles are being banned on the following route from December 31 at 6 pm till January 1, 6 am.
1) The road connecting Telangkhedi Hanuman Temple, Vayusena Nagar, and Futala Lake area will be closed for all vehicles including bicycles and cycle rickshaws. People coming to the Futala Lake area will park their vehicles on both sides of the road from Telangkhedi Hanuman Temple to Futala Lake and on the road from Futala Lake to Vayusena Nagar.
2) Road on both sides of Law College Square to Shankarnagar square on West High Court Road will be closed.
3) Sitabuldi Gowari Flyover, Sakkardara Flyover, Kamal Talkies Flyover, Menhdibagh Flyover, The two-way traffic on the Jaripatka Martin Nagar bridge will be closed to all types of traffic.
The traffic police have appealed to the public to strictly abide by the traffic rules while welcoming the New Year and to double the joy of the New Year by cooperating with the police.
