SVK Shikshan Sanstha, a reputed NGO working to empower Intellectually Challenged Adults in association with CRC, Nagpur (Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development & Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities, Government of India) organised a National Webinar on Visual Development &Â Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities.
The prevalence of Visual impairment or serious sight problems in people with Intellectual Disabilities has been reported to be atleast 40% rising to as high as 100% in those with profound and severe Disabilities but less likely to be able to successfully access Eye Care services than the general population.
 Dr. Rishikesh Mayee, a well known Pediatric Opthomologist with vast experience, especially working for the differently Abled people was the Guest Speaker.
In his enlightening and educating presentation Dr. Mayee highlighted about who is most at risk of having sight problems within the intellectually disabled population, how to identify the sight problems and what rehabilitation is required to tackle the problems in a very appealing manner.
 Further he addressed the queries of inquisitive Parents, Caregivers and Special Educators.
The Webinar was inaugurated by Dr. Rupa Gupta, a senior Eye Surgeon & Opthomologist.
The Webinar was well-received by huge Participants from all over the Country.
