A couple of brilliant hat-tricks marked the third day of Five-A-Side Football tournament, organised by Shivbhola Krida Mandal, at the Shiv Mandir Marartoli Ramnagar ground here on Thursday.
Enjoying a field day, Rahul Virmani and Christopher Peter slammed a hat-trick each to lead their teams to a comfortable win.
Hilltop FC blanked Friends FC 6-0 thanks to an excellent triple strike by Virmani. After Kunal Evnate opened the account in the 10th minute, Virmani pumped in three successive goals by finding the target in the 12th, 14th and 15th minutes.
Aniket Uikey (19th min) and Varun Meshram (23th min) chipped in with a goal apiece to help Hilltop FC complete the rout.
In another one-sided encounter, Nagpur Gymkhana thrashed JNFC 3-0. Christopher Peter emerged as the hero as the talented striker completed a hat-trick within a span of just seven minutes. Peter opened the account in the 12th minute and then added two more in the 16th and 19th minutes.
Earlier, Gladiator FC drubbed Cradle FC 2-0. Aashu scored an early goal in the sixth minute. Then after a change of ends, Vivek Parteki struck. IIFC ‘D’ edged past Shakti 1-0. Rakesh Bharti netted the lone goal in the 20th minute. DDSYS defeated Anand Dairy 2-0, courtey Mohammad Ashar’s brace.
