With an aim to curb road mishaps and create awareness about road safety, Akola RTO depeartment will celebrating the 32nd National Road Safety Week by organising different programmes from Monday January 18, informed Sub Divisional Transport Officer Vinod Jichkar.
Road safety and observing traffic norms can curtail rising road mishaps. It should be imbibed as a part of modern culture, he pointed out.
As a part of this programme, RTO department will launch different public awareness campaigns during the month long programme.
Under this programme, Road safety banners will be displayed and guidance leaflets will be distributed. RTO will also launch inspection rounds for helmets, driving license and vehicle insurance certificates checkup.
RTO has also planned road safety camps for commuters and drivers of heavy vehicles. Eye check-up camp will be also be held. Training programme for school bus/van drivers, quiz on road safety will also
be conducted.
Vinod Jichkar has called upon people to follow the traffic rules and stay safe.
