PM Modi, CMs likely to take COVID-19 vaccination in 2nd phase

With the beginning of 2021 the vaccination drive has also started in many states across the country. If sources are to be believed with the commencement of second phase of the inoculation drive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all Chief Ministers will also get vaccinated for Covid-19.

According to the report, In the second phase, those above 50 years of age and people with comorbidities will be vaccinated. All MPs and MLAs who are above 50 will also be vaccinated.

Politicians taking vaccination would be an important event. The PM himself taking the shot would serve as motivation for others to come forward and get the COVID-19 vaccine, amid the hesitancy being so far in the country.

The vaccine drive was launched on January 16 with health workers receiving jabs of two vaccines –  Covishield and Covaxin.

India has rolled out a massive coronavirus vaccination drive under which two vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin, are being administered to frontline health workers across the country. While Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield is being manufactured by the Serum Institute, and the Covaxin is being produced by Bharat Biotech.
