District Collector Ravindra Thakre, briefed that no major adverse effect of Covid shield vaccine was seen in the entire  district during the vaccinenation drive.
The drive began on January 16 and till January 20 1,577 health workers in rural area and 779 in the city were vaccinated.†The response on the day was slow, but gradually it is increasing,†Thakre said.
He also informed that daily 100 persons at one centre were vaccinated.
Nagpur has 12 vaccination centres of which 5 are in city and 7 are in rural. Thakre also added that after taking the first vaccine, the second to be taken after 28 days.
“Anti bodies develops only after 14 days of taking both vaccine, so following norms of Covid-19 prevention is must,†Thakre advised. He also informed that the registration for second phase for front line workers was in progress and will be completed till January 25.
