Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) encroachment drive razed 500 encroachments in the city on January 28 and collects Rs 23,500 as a fine in an initiative to make roads and footpath encroachment free. On Thursday the anti-encroachment drive took actions in various zones of the city in which 500 encroachments were removed, 8 truckloads of materials seized, Rs. 23500 fine was recovered.
From Laxmi Nagar Zone, NMC removed 66 encroachments and 1 truck material was seized.
Under Zone 3 Hanuman Nagar four temporary shed were demolished and around 76 encroachments were cleared and 1 truck material was seized.
Nehru Nagar Zone, five tin sheds of vegetable vendors were demolished in the drive, 75 encroachments were removed and 1 truck material was seized and a fine of Rs 8000 was recovered.
From Gandhibahg Zone 6, NMC cleared 42 encroachments. Satranjipura Zone 7, 76 encroachments were cleared.
Lakadganj Zone 8, 26 sheds were demolished 72 encroachments was cleared and 3 truck material was seized
Ashi Nagar Zone 9, 78 encroachment were cleared and a fine of Rs 2500 was collected
Mangalwari Zone 10, two Chinese carts from Mangalwari fruit market, while two carts from Indora ground and around 53 encroachment was cleared and 2 truck material was seized and a fine of Rs 13,000 was collected.
