As the civic authorities have given nod to reopen schools from February 8 for class 5th, private schools in the city have informed the parents that, they have to pay the year-long school bus fare, to send the children to the school.
This decision has created havoc among parents as, despite the warning of the Department of Education’s action against the schools charging extra fees, the schools are charging bus fare so arbitrarily.
It is noteworthy that the state government has ordered to start schools in the second phase from class VIII to XII. According to the government’s order, schools are supposed to start in the district from January 27 while NMC in its order said that the schools will begin from February.
For the past 10 months, there has been a dispute between parents and private schools regarding fees. Now schools have started charging fees in a new way. In this case, the Education Deputy Director Vaishali Jamdar has assured to investigate the matter.
While some of the schools in the city have written a direct letter to the parents that they have to send the children by school bus. Then you have to pay a full fare. Parents can bring their own children to school, but they are not allowed to be dropped at school in a private taxi or another vehicle.
