Nagpur Municipal Corporation is constantly appealing to the citizens to follow the rules and keep the city clean and beautiful. Yet the rules are constantly violated by some individuals. Regular action is being taken by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Nuisance Detection   Squad (NDS) to impose restrictions on such persons.
Under various actions taken in the city, the NDS has taken action against a total of 5,792 nuisances in January and recovered a fine of Rs 44,84,050.
Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, the action was taken by a team of ten zones led by Virsen Tambe. Â
The following fines have been collected from various activities carried out by the NDS Â from January 1 to 31.
Handcarts, stalls, pan shops, peddlers, small vegetable vendors paid Rs. 27,200 from 68 miscreants in the vicinity, Rs.400, Rs.2000  from educational institutes and coaching classes for littering on open space or footpath  Rs 2000 open space litter dispensaries, hospitals and patho lab, Rs.2000 for public garbage collection, malls, restaurants, lodging, boarding hotels, cinemas. Rs 24,000 from 12 miscreants such as offices, caterers service providers, Rs 2,000 for unauthorized hoardings  in the city, Rs 2,000 for putting up banners, Rs 26,30, 950 from 4,326 miscreants for closing pavilion or stage for personal work, Rs 26, 30, 950 in public places, Rs. 4,000 from 4 nuisances who build animal shade on foot path  or open spaces, washing animals / vehicles in public places and making the premises unsanitary Rs 3,000 from 3 nuisances, Rs 85,000 from roads, medical professionals to dispose of biomedical waste in general waste, Rs 39,000 for 39 works in workshops, garages and other repairs, Rs 9, 46, 473  from persons storing unauthorized construction materials on public roads and foot paths  and Rs 20,000 from 2 builders. Rs 71,500 for 21 actions taken to remove building debris in public places, Rs 91,600 for action against 458 persons for other nuisances and Rs 2, 51,251 organizations, Rs 200 for burning wet or dry waste in public places As per the order of 2017 and as per the instructions given, a fine of Rs. 44,84, 050 has been recovered by taking punitive action.
From Laxmi Nagar Zone 1 action was taken against 687 people and fine of Rs 3,99,500 was collected. In Dharampeth Zone 2 action was taken against 868 people and fine of Rs 7,36,700 was collected. In Hanuman Nagar Zone 3 action was taken against 677 people and fine of Rs 4,32,900 was collected. In Dhantoli Zone 4 action was taken against 435 people and fine of Rs 5,15,200 was collected. In Nehru Nagar Zone 5 action against 452 people was taken and fine of Rs 3,80,950 was collected. In Gandhibagh Zone 6 action was taken on 485 people and fine of Rs 4,20,000 was collected. In Satranjipura Zone 7 action was taken against 345 people and fine of Rs 3,28,900 was collected.
In Lakadganj Zone 8 action against 638 people was taken and fine of Rs 4,07,200 was collected. In Ashi Nagar Zone 9 action against 528 people was taken and fine of Rs 4,38,100 was collected.
In Mangalwari Zone 10 action against 687 people was taken and fine of Rs 4,24, 600 was collected. In the month of January 2021 action against 5792 people was taken and fine of Rs 44,84, 050 was collected
