After Maharashtra Schools received the nod to resume classes for students of 5th to 8th standard from January 27, 2021, Schools of the city witnessed poor attendance of students.
Authorities and administration of various schools in Nagpur confirmed that the students attending the schools is either very low, or it is near to 0%. In conversation with the Live Nagpur, many school authorities conveyed that all safety measures and precautions were on standby for the initial days of students at school, but the attendance turned out to be very low.
Schools are citing the concerns of parents amidst COVID-19 pandemic as the reason of low attendance. According to the schools, parents are still not sure and confident about the safety precautions at schools. School authorities told that, Parents are not willing to send their children to schools and are preferring online mode of learning for the children.
