The French envoy to India Emmanuel Lenain and Council General of France in Mumbai Sonia Barbary visited NMC head office on Tuesday. During the visit, discussions on the Nag River Rejuvenation Project was held and civic authority sought financial and technical help from France.Also,France’s Agence Francaise de Development company will extend its assistance to the project for the second phase of the Nag River rejuvenation project.
The civic chief said that the Nag River project is jointly funded by Centre, Sate and NMC in the ratio of 60:25:15.The project cost is Rs.2117.71 crore.For the first phase of the project, Japanese company,Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA)will provide financial assistance.Besides,France’s help would also be required for processing of plastic garbage. The French envoy has assured help in this regard.
