The Builders Association of India (BAI) and Contractor and Contractor and Builders Association of India (CBAI) registered a nationwide agitation all across the India. The Agitation was in regard of the increasing Steel and cement prices. Both associations launched a one day token strike and halted construction work across the country. Agitation was launched because of the rising Steel and Cement prices.
According to the BAI, within the last one year, Prices went up to 45%. This hike in the price of Steel and cement can result to overall construction price hike by 15-17%.
