The  police have filed an offence against unidentified fruadster for opening a duplicate Facebook account in the name of Ex-Minister of State for Finance and Planning and senior Congress leader Rajendra Mulak and demanding Rs 10,000 to his worker. As per the information, the fraudster has opened a Facebook account in the name of Ex-Minister Rajendra Mulak using his profile picture. He then sent friend requests to various persons and also sent them messages that he wants Rs 10,000.
Same message was received by Mulak’s worker Abid Taji, on Facebook messenger, in which the fraudster demanded Rs 10,000 in the name of Mulak. Abid was shocked after seeing the message as the fraudster, pretending himself as Rajendra Mulak, asked to credit the money in his bank account for an emergency. Suspecting something wrong, Abid contacted Mulak and narrated the incident. Mulak then immediately checked his Facebook account and learnt that his account was safe but someone has created a duplicate account in his name using his profile picture and other information available on Facebook. Mulak directed his Personal Assistant Prakash Naryan Barokar (46), a resident of Plot No. 140, Pande Layout, Khamla, to lodge a complaint with Cyber Police Station. After the complaint lodged by Barokar, the Cyber Police forwarded the complaint to Rana Pratap Nagar police.The police have registered the case under Sections 419 and 511 of Indian Penal Code.
