Covid cases increase in city, civic chief asks people to be vigilant

The number of Covid positive cases is increasing in the district since last 3 to 4 days. In view of this situation, the civic chief conducted a survey of the areas from where maximum number of patients was found. As per the survey, 9 areas in the city are turning into hotspots. Contact tracing has begun in the areas and those who had come into contact with the positive patients would be isolated. And for this purposes the number of rapid response teams increased. The municipal commissioner said that those found violating the norms would have to face strict action. And a team has been constituted under the leadership of additional commissioner to monitor the work in all the hot spots.

He said that a daily report would be prepared based upon the data gathered by the team. According to the civic authority, the Covid patients are constantly found in the areas including Khamla, Swavalambi Nagar, Jaitala, Ayodhya Nagar, New Bidipeth, Wathoda, Dighori, Jaripatka and Jaffer Nagar.Apart from other areas there are many housing societies, where patients are being found. Municipal Commissioner has asked the housing societies to be vigilant. He said that the society residents should inform the municipal administration if any resident is found positive. The municipal commissioner said that every person should get tested. He also added that the vegetable vendors, milkmen, domestic help and the other people who regularly come into contact with many people should get tested periodically. The health department has also been instructed to conduct tests of such people at regular intervals.
